As part of the Discover Housing campaign, some of our staff visited a local primary school to talk about Soha. They were there to discuss the many different types of jobs people can do, as well as the skills needed, within social housing. They met over 60 children who were all really engaged and asked us lots of brilliant questions! It was also lovely to hear that some of their parents already work at Soha, with that connection shared proudly.
Head of Resident Engagement Emma Langstaff said, “We hope we showed them how rewarding a career in housing can be and the difference we can make, although we did have some competition from policing, law, and marine biology! Thank you for having us.”
The Discover Housing campaign aims to bring together 100 housing partners and 100 primary schools across the country, helping children discover the diverse and rewarding careers our sector offers. Soha funded this school’s involvement through Positive Footprints. Find out more here: Discover Housing – Positive Footprints.
