Safety at home
General needs flats with common areas
The Fire Risk Assessment for each General Needs property or standard flat with communal areas, is reviewed on a three yearly basis by a Fire Safety Consultant, with interim on-going reviews to ensure compliance carried out by the Neighbourhood Officer responsible for the area.
Sheltered Schemes
The Fire Risk Assessment for Sheltered Accommodation is reviewed and updated on an annual basis by a Fire Safety consultant with interim ongoing reviews to ensure compliance carried out by the Independent Living Advisor.
Extra Care Schemes
The Fire Risk Assessment for our Extra Care Schemes is reviewed and updated on an annual basis by a Specialist Fire Safety consultant with interim ongoing reviews to ensure compliance carried out by the Extra Care Scheme Managers.
Independent Living
The Fire Risk Assessment for each Independent Living Scheme is reviewed and updated on an annual basis by a Specialist Fire Safety Consultant with interim ongoing reviews to ensure compliance carried out by the Scheme Manager (Independent Living) and Neighbourhood Officer.
New Build or Acquired Properties
The initial Fire Risk Assessment for each new build property will be undertaken by a specialist Fire Safety Consultant. This will be commissioned by the Development Manager responsible for that Scheme prior to the building being handed over to housing or leasehold management. New build homes must also comply with Building Regulations which includes Fire Safety.
Maintenance & Inspection arrangements
The following maintenance schedule will apply to fire safety equipment and other building related fire management systems (where fitted).
