| Thursday 18 November Soha has a ‘Green Team’ – would you like to join it? Soha’s Green Team is a cross departmental environmental group that also includes a number of Soha residents. The main responsibilities of the Green Team will be to • Progress and monitor environmental actions in the corporate plan and environmental strategy. These include upgrading all Soha homes to EPC C by 2030 and monitoring progress to achieve Net Zero Carbon by 2050; obtaining external accreditation such as ISO14001, ISO50001, SHIFT or similar; working with residents and communities to improve use of communal open spaces and taking appropriate actions to maximise our own positive environmental impact as a business. • Act as environmental champions and promote sustainability and environmental awareness to staff, residents and stakeholders. • Identify, assess and implement new ways of working, new technologies and best practice as well as gaining feedback from staff and customers on the environmental work we are undertaking. Progress towards meeting objectives will be reviewed and reported to Soha’s Senior Leadership Team, Members’ Forum and Board on an annual basis. Soha will also be looking for external scrutiny of its environmental management systems by obtaining independent accreditation such as ISO 14001, ISO 5001, SHIFT Certification or similar and maintain this by embedding an ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability into company culture. If you would like to join our Green Team or find out more please contact Lee Hayward. Director of Property Services, via email at lhayward@soha.co.uk or by phone on Freephone 0800 014 15 45. |
