What is Membership?
Soha Housing is a mutual organisation, which means that our stakeholders help to decide how we’re run. If you’re a Member of Soha, the biggest decisions about Soha’s future can be made with you. By being a Member, you can hold our Board to account, question why decisions are being made and help us choose how we grow.
Our Membership is flexible, which means you can have as much or as little involvement as you like whilst still voting on big decisions in our autumn AGM. See below for decisions our Members have made in recent AGMs.
Tenants, leaseholders, shared owners and Soha staff can all be Members. Membership is handled by our Resident Involvement team, who you can contact on ri@soha.co.uk.
What does Membership mean for you?
As a member, you can have as much or as little involvement as you’d like. Here is what Soha Membership can offer you:
- exclusive Membership prize draws (see www.soha.co.uk/terms-and-conditions/ for more information) and events
- welcome pack and Member’s certificate
- vote new members onto Soha’s Board, and some of the biggest decisions about Soha’s future, at the AGM (Annual General Meeting) each autumn
- two additional resident events a year
- opportunities to have your say in our publications, newsletter or on our website
- meet new and interesting people from your local community
- opportunity to represent others on the Members’ Forum
- keep in touch – whether that’s voting at the AGM, or letting us know your thoughts digitally
- legally, a Member’s liability is limited to £1 (maximum).
