Alterations and improvements

This guide is for tenants who want to carry out work to their home. This includes outbuildings, sheds, patios, ponds and driveways. If, as a Soha tenant, you would like to carry out work to your home, you must first get our written permission. No work should start until you have our permission. If you don’t get our permission in advance, we can ask you to return the property to its original condition. If you don’t, we may carry out the work and charge you the cost.

For detailed information, please read our alterations and improvements documentation.

Please note that installing CCTV on your home needs our permission, and an alterations form to be completed. Video doorbells do not need permission. Click here for our guidelines on the use of CCTV or video doorbells.

How can I apply for alterations or improvements?

If you wish to carry out major or structural alterations please contact Soha in writing in to explain what you intend to do. If you are proposing to carry out any alterations to your home (other than internal redecoration or minor cosmetic changes), your tenancy agreement requires you to obtain permission from Soha before starting the works.

Please use this form to apply for alterations or improvements.
