Repairing my home
If your home is a house, you are responsible for all internal and external repairs.
If you live in a flat, you are responsible for the internal repairs which could include:
▪ windows (handles, glass and internal condition)
▪ interior plasterwork and decoration, including ceilings
▪ floorboards
▪ sanitary ware and cisterns
▪ kitchen fittings and taps both inside and outside
▪ heating systems including all components
▪ radiators
▪ pipe work and flues
▪ electrical fittings and wiring
▪ internal waste pipes
▪ dampness caused by condensation
Whereas the freeholder, who in most cases is Soha, is responsible for:
▪ roofing
▪ foundations
▪ walls
▪ windows (replacement)
▪ communal doors
▪ communal areas including paths
▪ entry systems
▪ communal TV aerials
▪ external drains and sewers
▪ structural damp problems
▪ communal boundary walls
▪ communal fences
