Shifting power to communities

Soha Resident Engagement and Communities Manager, Jackie Logan, today spoke at the Westminster Insight – Improving Tenant Engagement Digital Conference.

“We want people to define their own priorities – rather than work to any agenda we might have – and to work together to find sustainable solutions.”

Her brief was to talk about how Soha has been tackling loneliness and reaching out to create a sense of community. She covered Soha’s experiences in delivering the resident-led loneliness project and how residents are now at work on the inititive in their communities.

Jackie said, “it’s important to us, as a mutual housing association, that we shift power to our communities. We want people to define their own priorities – rather than work to any agenda we might have – and to work together to find sustainable solutions. Our members have made significant steps towards achieving this in their communities. We’re grateful for such a dedicated team of Community Connectors.

Anyone interested in exploring more than the experiences I had time to describe is very welcome to contact me at ri@soha.co.uk.”
