Armed Forces Day in the UK – 27 June – is a chance for Soha to reiterate its support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community – and to demonstrate what that support looks like in practice.
Soha made a public commitment in 2020 to ensure that current and veteran members of our armed forces and their families are treated fairly. That commitment was made by signing the Armed Forces Covenant – a pledge that brings together government, businesses, local authorities, charities and the public to support the forces.
Among other things, that meant promising to support the employment of veterans, service spouses and partners by promoting career opportunities and flexible working. Soha also committed to accommodating the special requirements of staff who choose to be Reservists. “This is not just about our saying ‘thank you’ but acknowledging that there are valuable skills and unique experience which members of the military family can bring to a business” said Katie Legg, Head of HR at Soha.
