Margaret, Chair of the Seniors’ Group, talks here about her experiences in the group, and describes the impact the group has on the way Soha is run
The Seniors’ Group is made up of representatives from our communities for senior people, who have an interest in the views of those senior people.
As part of their role, Seniors’ Group members:
- meet five times a year
- monitor key statistics
- review appropriate Soha policies
- consider relevant Soha reports and comment
- comment on proposals from staff
- on behalf of the Members’ Forum, make decisions on matters affecting senior residents
- report annually to the Members’ Forum, with an outline of what the group is doing and any areas of concern
- meet with residents at schemes, and feedback to the Seniors’ group
- hold coffee mornings for residents in their community
