Your service charges cover the costs of services such as grounds maintenance, communal facilities (such as lighting in common stairways and outside) and cleaning corridors, stairways and halls.
How do service charges work?
Service charges are designed so that each household is charged a proportionate share of the actual costs of providing communal facilities or services.
We collect the charges during the year based on an estimate of the costs and charge you your share of that estimate. We try to be as accurate as we can – but we can only make an estimate.
Once the actual costs for the financial year are known, we compare them to what we charged you and the difference is added or deducted from the estimate for the following year.
We’ll always send you a breakdown or statement of your service charges so you know what to expect.
