We are committed to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
What are we aiming to achieve?
Becoming more environmentally sustainable is one of Soha’s eight key corporate objectives. We’ve set out our commitment in our Corporate Plan. We’ve said we aim to
- decarbonise our homes to be net zero carbon in use by 2050. We have a target before then to improve the energy efficiency of all Soha homes to at least EPC C standard by 2030. That’s in line with government targets.
Our Environmental Strategy also says that we will aim for
- our business operation to be net zero carbon by 2030.
We are going to:
- maximise the use of grant funding.
- have an easy-to-use and comprehensive measuring tool so we can improve the quality and readability of the data we already hold on our stock. It will also help us produce long-term sustainable investment and improvement plans for our properties.
- work with residents and communities to improve use of communal open spaces. We’ll also enable you to live more sustainably, supporting your environmental ambitions. We’ll make sure we are making the best use of our combined resources to do so.
- receive an independent environmental accreditation such as ISO: 14001, SHIFT Certification or similar. We’ll maintain that accreditation by putting an ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability at the heart of our company culture.
